What’s your idea about it?\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nIlan Pappé: I think a smaller group of Israelis, diminishing by the day, are unhappy about the new coalition. We have to remember it would the approval of the vast majority of the Jewish voters. It is true than in certain TV channels and newspapers like Haaretz, this minority that lost has quite a presence, but I suspect that this new government will censor it further.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQodsna: What are the most important internal problems of the Zionist regime and why are these problems constantly increasing?\r\n\r\nIlan Pappé: There are three major problems and they are indeed increasing with time. They are all equally important, so I am not listing them according to importance. The first is that the political orientation of the regime makes it very difficult for the West to protect it in the name of democracy, when it is now totally clear how undemocratic the regime is. This could lead to international isolation and even sanctions. The second is that the Palestinian resistance is still there, and half of Palestine's population is still Palestinians and continues to grow demographically and will not disappear and not stop its resistance. Israel has the military power to confront this resistance, but the question for how long and at what price (much depends on the Arab and Muslim Worlds whether they will support this liberation struggle). The third problem is the economy - the gap between the rich and the poor is wider than ever, and the government policy will lead to widening of this gap.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQodsna: How do you evaluate the future of resistance in the West Bank during Netanyahu's re-election as prime minister?\r\n\r\nIlan Pappé: It will grow and increase. The problem is it is not strategized and there is still a disunity in the Palestinian leadership that prevents it to be effective in the end of the day. In the past, armed struggle, diplomatic campaign, went hand in hand in the liberation struggle of Palestine.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQodsna: Will there be a change in the equation of the conflict in the region with the axis of resistance?\r\n\r\nIlan Pappé: Few conditions have to be observed: unity in the Arab and Muslim world in support of the struggle; the ability of the western societies, who are mainly pro Palestinians to influence their government and the ability of the Palestinians to reintroduce a consensual leadership and strategy (if you noticed I do not see a change with the Jewish society in Israel as a pre condition for success, although of course it would have helped.\r\n\r\n ","content_html":"
