Israeli war crimes are violations of international criminal law, including war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of genocide. Do you believe that Israel has committed crimes? How do you see the future of Israel-Hezbollah war and Israel- Hamas war.\r\n\r\n Eric Walberg: Israel is blatantly, proudly committing genocide. it is fully supported by the US. The future is dim. Palestine is our last chance to save the world from total war and environmental destruction. We must rely mostly on world public opinion, plus the pledge and daily sacrifice taken by millions around the world not to rest until we turn the tide against evil. It is existential for both capitalism and for the forces of liberation from capitalism so we can't afford to give up.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQodsna: Israel assassinated Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas in the Iranian capital Tehran on 31 July 2024, which is considered contrary to international conventions, which prompted a military response by Iran. What is your take on Iran’s legitimate and punitive response to Israel, especially in terms of international laws?\r\n\r\n Eric Walberg: Iran has the right to respond. The assassination of General Soleimani was equally disgusting and is still unavenged. But the 'logic' of war might mean gaining the trust of Saudi Arabia and forming a new alliance to shut Israel out, to shut US-Israel out. That would be worth far more than the satisfaction of revenge. At this point, Hezbollah's ongoing tormenting of Israel is the thing bothering Israel. Let's hope Israel doesn't cut off its lifeline to Iran. Also, firming up relations with Russia is vital to Iran's well being. I hope Russia doesn't let you down.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQodsna: How do you see the impact of Iran’s foreign policy on the Palestinian cause?\r\n\r\n Eric Walberg: Iran is the only lifeline for defense the Palestinians have. Finally, the Arabs are at least pretending to do something. Iran must be patient. Only a united ummah can defeat US-Israel. Getting the Arabs to actually do something, coordinating with Iran -- this is the key to moving beyond this present sterile wasteland.\r\n\r\nIran is moral anti-imperialist state. Iran bombed Israel twice, inflicting serious damage to military sites (again Islam sharia not to attack civilians). this is unprecedented. The whole world cheered Iran for attacking the beast tormenting us all. Iran is brave, principled. Iran is saving the world, and without pomp or bombast, and under extreme sanctions.\r\n\r\nIranian civilization and culture is a legacy to the world. Russia had its great revolution in 1917, but it ultimately failed as it was anti-religion.
