Yemeni army launches drone attacks on Saudi Arabia’s Dammam airport, Jizan military sites

The Yemeni Armed Forces have launched a series of drone attacks targeting Dammam airport in Saudi Arabia’s oil-rich Eastern Province, an early-warning radar installation in the southwestern Jizan region, and a military transport aircraft at Jizan airport.

The spokesperson for the Yemeni army, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said the military carried out multiple drone operations against aviation and military infrastructure across Saudi Arabia over the past 48 hours.

He said that King Fahd International Airport in Dammam was targeted in two separate stages using two drones, disrupting air traffic.

Saree noted that a drone struck an early-warning radar installation in Jizan, scoring a direct hit.

He went on to say that another drone operation targeted a military transport aircraft stationed at King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan.

Separately, the Yemeni military spokesman said in a statement posted on social media platform X that 109 air strikes hit locations in the provinces of Sa’ada, Ta’izz, Lahij, al-Jawf and Hudaydah over the past 24 hours.

He added that the attacks caused civilian casualties.

Saree further noted that F-15SA and Eurofighter Typhoon warplanes belonging to the Royal Saudi Air Force took off from King Khalid Air Base near Khamis Mushait and King Fahd Air Base in Taif to carry out the aerial raids.

The spokesman said the attacks brought the total number of air and missile strikes since the latest escalation began in July to 3,939.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni Ministry of Public Health and Population announced in a brief statement that at least 17 people, mostly children, were killed and 59 others wounded in a string of Saudi airstrikes across the country over the past 24 hours.

This screengrab, taken on November 2, 2026, shows casualties following a strike by Saudi-led forces against al-Makh'af market in the al-Misrakh district of Ta’izz province, southwestern Yemen.

On July 20, the government in Sana’a declared a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia in reaction to the “unjust and oppressive siege” on Yemen that has lasted nearly 12 years.

The Yemeni Armed Forces reported a number of successful operations aimed at Saudi-linked vessels in the Red Sea following the announcement.

Additionally, they have conducted retaliatory strikes on targets deep within Saudi territory.

In March 2015, Saudi Arabia and its allies initiated a blockade on Yemen, launching a comprehensive military campaign that was bolstered by military, political, and logistical support from the United States and various Western nations.

While hundreds of thousands of Yemenis have lost their lives, Saudi Arabia has not succeeded in its primary objective of reinstating a puppet regime in Yemen that aligns with its interests.
