Araghchi: Israel’s attack on aid seekers is a blatant war crime

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has condemned Zionist regime’s attack on Palestinians seeking food and humanitarian aid in Gaza as a clear example of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
In a social media post on Monday, Araghchi described Gaza as a symbol of both resistance and oppression, underscoring the unyielding resilience of its people.
He emphasized that Zionist regime’s forces have exploited every means at their disposal against the Palestinian population, including the use of starvation and deprivation of basic necessities.
“Gaza remains a symbol of resistance and oppression, a fact proven once again through the astonishing, tireless steadfastness of its men, women, and children against the crimes of the terrorist Israeli entity over the past twenty-two months,” Araghchi said.
During this time, the criminal Zionists have not shied away from using the most egregious tactics, including imposing thirst and starvation on the defenseless residents of Gaza. Yet, despite these efforts, they have failed to shatter the iron will of the Palestinian people, he added.
He condemned the attack on civilians congregating for essential resources such as bread, water, or humanitarian aid, calling it a “blatant example of war crimes and crimes against humanity.”
Araghchi reiterated that, despite Israel's brutal tactics, the unwavering determination of the Palestinian people remains intact.
He also called on the international community and Western nations that profess to champion human rights to take responsibility for the situation in Gaza.
He emphasized that they share accountability for the deaths of over a thousand innocent Palestinian civilians caught in the deadly traps set by the United States and Israel at aid centers.
Moreover, Araghchi condemned the 140-day siege of Gaza, which has resulted in more than 600 deaths due to shortages of medicine, food, and water.
“The justice of history and the collective conscience of humanity will judge this indifference and evasion of responsibility,” he concluded.
Gaza authorities blame both the Zionist regime and the international community for the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Strip, where some 59,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been martyred since October 2023 due to relentless bombing and the blockade, which has caused famine-like conditions.
Hamas officials, UN experts, and humanitarian aid workers say Zionist regime is using starvation as a “weapon of war.”
