254 Journalists martyred since the start of Gaza genocidal
The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza reported on Wednesday that the number of Palestinian journalists martyred during Gaza genocide has risen to 254. This follows the announcement of the deaths of journalists Sami Dawood and Yahya Mohammad Barzaq.
The GMO confirmed that journalist Sami Dawood worked for Rawafed TV, while Yahya Mohammad Barzaq collaborated with several media outlets.
The GMO strongly condemned the “systematic targeting, killing, and assassination” of Palestinian journalists by Zionist regime’s occupation forces. It called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Arab Journalists Union, and all media and press organizations worldwide to condemn these systematic crimes against journalists and media professionals in Gaza.
It also held Israel, alongside the US administration, and countries it described as complicit in the genocide, the UK, Germany, and France, fully responsible for these heinous and brutal crimes, according to the statement.
The GMO urged the international community, global organizations, and bodies concerned with journalism and media to condemn Israel’s crimes, work to deter them, and pursue them in international courts, while demanding justice for the perpetrators.
It also called for serious and effective pressure to stop the genocide, protect journalists and media professionals in Gaza, and end the ongoing killings and assassinations.
