Yemenis rally nationwide, vow readiness against Israeli ceasefire stalling

Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis held nationwide rallies, voicing readiness to confront any Israeli delay in implementing a ceasefire agreement with Hamas aimed at ending the genocidal war on Gaza.

The Yemenis on Friday held large-scale rallies simultaneously with the establishment of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to praise the resistance and steadfastness of the Palestinian people.

Mass rallies were held, including in Sa’ada province in northern Yemen, under the slogan "Al-Aqsa Flood: Two Years of Jihad and Sacrifice Until Victory."

The protesters emphasized their distrust of the promises made by the Israeli regime and declared that any temporary agreement does not eliminate the need for continuous national preparedness.

They added that the enemy does not honor its commitments and may resort to stalling and tactical maneuvers at this stage.

Therefore, they emphasized, people must remain vigilant and use every opportunity to stay active in the field and continue practical training.

In their official statement, the demonstrators said the Palestinian resistance, with the support of the Yemeni people and Muslim nations, has thwarted all the Israeli-American conspiracies aimed at suppressing the Palestinian nation and ending its resistance.

The Yemeni people’s statement paid tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives in support of Gaza, especially the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, Iran and the resistance in Iraq.

It condemned all the regimes and powers that hatched plots or shirked their responsibilities toward Palestine.

The truce, brokered by the United States, began at noon local time on Friday. The Israeli military confirmed it had withdrawn to agreed positions under the first phase of the deal.

By midday, tanks had pulled back from Gaza’s coastal al-Rashid Street, allowing displaced residents to return to Gaza City.

According to official figures, at least 67,211 people have been martyred since Zionist regime launched its war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.

Every week, Yemenis have been staging mass protests across the country to decry the Israeli atrocities in Gaza, and to reiterate their support for the country’s retaliatory operations.

Since the onset of Zionist regime’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Yemen's forces have carried out scores of operations in support of the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to targeting Israeli ships or vessels heading towards ports in the occupied territories.
