Qatar PM: Israeli military withdrawal key to full Gaza truce
Qatar’s prime minister and minister of foreign affairs Mohamed Al Thani said in the first session of the Doha Forum held on Saturday that “mediators are working to impose the next phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.”
The prime minister warned that the Gaza negotiations are going through a critical phase.
“We are at a critical moment. It’s not yet there. So what we have just done is a pause,” he said.
“We cannot consider it yet a ceasefire. A ceasefire cannot be completed unless there is a full withdrawal of the Israeli forces – (until) there is stability back in Gaza, people can go in and out, which is not the case today,” he added.
The Doha Forum 2025 was inaugurated today in the presence of Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and with the participation of heads of states, experts, and diplomats from around the world.
