Ghalibaf: Battle-tested US military generals refuse to be yes-men for a TV host
Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf says the battle-tested generals in the US army refuse to be yes-men for a TV host.
“SITREP: Battle-tested generals refuse to be yes-men for a TV host selling out American lives for Israel’s delusions,” Ghalibaf wrote on his X account on Saturday in reaction to the dismissal of senior US Army commanders by Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense.
“That’s the short-term price,” he added.
“Long-term cost? American taxpayers paying at the pump for decades. Real LEGACY,” he noted.
Randy George, who still had several years left in his official term, was unexpectedly forced to step down as Army Chief of Staff upon the order of Pete Hegseth, who was a TV host for Fox News between 2017 and 2024.
According to CNN, “He also fired two other Army generals Thursday, a US official said — the chief of chaplains, Maj. Gen. William Green Jr., and the commander of Army Transformation and Training Command, Gen. David Hodne.” Hegseth’s decision has come as a surprise even to some Republicans.
