Zionist troops raids Jenin for 506th day, begins building new military post
Zionist regime’s occupation forces continued large-scale raids and arrest campaigns across towns and villages in Jenin province on Wednesday, as Zionist regime assault on the city and its refugee camp entered its 506th consecutive day.
The raids coincided with systematic vandalism of Palestinian property, the destruction of infrastructure and the start of work on a new military camp and outpost east of the city.
Large Zionist regime’s military forces stormed several towns and villages in the western and southern areas of Jenin from the early hours of dawn, with raids concentrated in Arraba, Fahma, Marka, Bir al-Basha, Zababdeh, Jaba and Anza.
Zionist troops clashed with residents during the incursions which are aimed at tightening restrictions on local communities and imposing a more complex security situation in the area.
In Arraba, southwest of Jenin, a military force of more than 100 soldiers and 30 patrol vehicles carried out a wide raid and field interrogation campaign targeting dozens of homes.
The interrogations focused mainly on released prisoners, while Israeli troops turned one Palestinian home into a field interrogation center and caused extensive damage inside targeted houses.
Bir al-Basha also witnessed a similar raid campaign, with more than 30 homes searched. Zionist regime’s forces damaged residents’ property and subjected them to harsh field interrogations. Among the homes raided and searched was the house of prisoner Yaqoub Qadri.
The raids coincided with a continuing incursion into the nearby village of Anza, where residents reported clashes and similar search operations.
As part of efforts to tighten military control and entrench Israel’s presence in the area, the IOF continued work on a new military camp and outpost east of Jenin, near Haddad tourist village.
Palestinians warn that the site could further restrict movement and isolate nearby villages and towns from one another.
The latest escalation is part of the broader Israeli assault on Jenin city and its refugee camp, which began on Jan. 21, 2025, causing widespread destruction across all aspects of life and deepening a humanitarian crisis affecting thousands of Palestinian families.
The ongoing assault has led to the complete demolition of more than 700 homes in Jenin refugee camp. Hundreds of other homes have been partially damaged, leaving most of them uninhabitable. Streets, water and electricity networks, and commercial shops have also been destroyed.
Dozens of Palestinians have been martyred, while nearly 22,000 residents have been forcibly displaced and remain barred by Israel from returning to their homes.
